to my biggest brother,
with your birthday a few days away, i wanted to tell you…..once more how much i love you. if you could only read my mind and my heart, you would know how proud i am of you. words cannot begin to tell you what an inspiration you are to me and how you have changed my life and the person that i am. you have changed the way i see the world and shown me that miracles do happen, prayers are answered and wishes can come true. i miss you so much each day and i can’t wait to visit again. i love our chats and i love to hear about your progress. this year, just relax on your birthday and spend some quiet time with family. there will be a birthday that we celebrate next year at your house with cake and candles and whatever else you desire! until then, keep working hard and trying your best. like christopher robin says, your braver than you believe, stronger than you seem and smarter than you think.

I can only begin, our Blaine, to tell you how very very much we love you and are incredibly happy to hear of your progress. I know a day will come when you’ll read this. In the meantime we’ll just keep on praying – if anyone can do it you can – you are an amazing man and I really miss you from up here. We’ll be down again soon when the timing is good for you.

Blaine has a very supportive, very involved family willing to do anything for him to have the best care. We fully support all requests and recommendations made to us by medical professionals in way of providing the best care we can offer to Blaine. We appreciate your offer of help…and may call upon it one day

Thanks, Heather, my sweet neice, for updating this for us! I already got a chunk of this from your mom, but it is always good to get more and more info with all the little – and large – progresses that happen each day!! I talked with him a bit today – he of course doesn’t realize I am not so close that I can just pop over like Clint & Aaron and of course your mom. I wish I could. I am so grateful that he is getting so much therapy and working hard there to improve – he will need that so much when he leaves. As it sits now none of us are able to really care for him and of course I[m not even in the same city for his out patient therapy, however we assure him he will be coming up to visit us often of course. I just love and miss him so very much – he already IS a miracle and I am holding fast onto the faith that he will be very high functioning again. There is still a great deal of his brilliant brain to work with!!! And I’m with you – GO, BLAINE BABY, GO!!! Love you all very much – Aunt Kath

Heather,
Once again, an amazing update!
Seven years is a long time to lose, for someone who’s lived as much as Blaine. Luckily for him, he’s shared so many of his experiences via those stories he’s so famous for. Friends and family can take turns reminding him of his adventures that even he will find unbelievable!
If Blaine shows half the determination of body as he does mind, he’ll be up and chasing the nurses in no time.
Looking forward to seeing that smile myself!

PS – Rabbit, boat, car, hotel, dog? I wouldn’t remember those, either! Tell him Family, love, honor, strength, Irish! THOSE, he’ll remember!

Who but Blaine would be more concerned with “the girls” than with his rehabilitation?! It’s so nice to hear about all these more personal moments. It shows that your family is able focus more on the humorous side of his recovery process than worry about his condition. Every update brings more and more hope and even promise that he will soon be the independent man he has always been.

Good Morning Heather & Aaron – just want to take a minute here to thank you two very much for updating for family & friends on Blaine’s continued journey to wellness…Grandpa & I really appreciate getting this information believe me…it is just great!! Barrows is going to be such a blessing in so many ways, our Blainer is just going to shine. We all know how dedicated he was before his accident to keeping his body in shape & he will remember this in bits & pieces as days go by – he has already done so in some ways – so it will be so good to see him improve as the therapists work with him. Also pleased he likes his food better therefore he will eat! Getting him to eat while at North Mountain was indeed a challenge…somewhere in his mind he surely remembers the good meals he use to prepare & probably wondered what happened to them?! No doubt! Love & Hugs and Keep the Faith!!! Grandma Bernie
